Glowy Skin, Glossy Eyes And Lips
This is the year of investing in our skin, whether it be with masks, serums, or using home favourites like Sweet Almond Oil. Glowy, healthy finishes on the skin are definitely in for 2018.
Highlights with a distinct sheen without any glitter are perfect for achieving this look of healthy, nourished, youthful skin. Paired with subtly glossed lips ( Fenty Gloss Bomb is a top choice), we can create beautiful, fresh radiant looks. To take the glow even further, catwalk makeup artists have been applying slight layers of eye gloss, to the upper eyelids, for cohesive, dramatic yet subtle looks.
Ultra-Violet
When Pantone announced that their 2018 Colour of the Year was Ultra Violet, a “dramatic and thoughtful purple shade”, this was truly a reflection of the rain of purple that has been seen throughout makeup artistry in A/W 2017. And this is a trend that will surely continue through to 2018.
Natasha Denona, Huda Beauty, and Fenty have excellent selections within their collections to recreate the looks that will certainly be seen throughout the catwalks and red carpets this year. The colour is versatile: pop a light amount in the inner corner of the eye, along the lashline, or build it up into a soft smoky eye. For a statement look, channel Missoni with a bold graphic purple liner, Mac’s Acrylic Paints are perfect for this.
Less Is More
2018 is the year of embracing our natural beauty. The days of harsh eyebrows and intense contours are leaving in favour of feathery, light makeup – with an emphasis on healthy, dewy skin. Tinted moisturizers are great for giving our pores a break, whilst still evening out any skin discolouration. A great inspiration is Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2018 catwalk, where the models wore simple, pared back makeup with the eyeliner applied to upper lid and natural lip colours, to accentuate their natural features.
