رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
*Rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min ’khayrin faqeer *
_My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need_
Allah (swt) Says In surah Al Qasas, verse 23 & 24:
“And when he came to the water of Madyan, he found on it a group of men watering, and he found besides them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What is the matter with you? They said: We cannot water until the shepherds take away (their sheep) from the water, and our father is a very old man.”
“So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "_My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need_." “
Musa (as) had just fled from the wrongdoing, unjust people and reached the area of Madyan, after he had accidentally taken the life of a man and feared that he would be killed by the people he had fled from.
SubhanAllah, although he was himself in need, he helped others when he saw they were in need.
After helping two ladies water their animals during their time of need, he retreated under a tree for shade and called to Allah swt.
Allah swt accepted his dua and blessed him with a wife and a family in Madyan, and he later became a prophet.
_What can we learn? _
We can continuously ask Allah (swt) to give us from His blessings.
We can strive to always do good and help others in their time of need, even when we ourselves are in need. We can use this dua to call out to Allah swt in our times of need, for, in fact, we are always in a state of need. For Allah (swt) is the Rich and the Strong One and we are poor and weak.
(Anything good is from Allah swt and anything bad/incorrect is from myself. If there are any mistakes, please do correct me. If you have any reflections on this, please do share.
Jazakum Allah Khair)
